eBible Changes The Game!

February 14, 2012 — Leave a comment

Our friends over at eBible.com have always amazed us with their polished, easy to use, online Bible and mobile applications, and now they are setting the standard a little bit higher.  eBible.com has recently added some new ministry resources that according them is “a game-changer to help increase Bible engagement.”  And I have to agree!

Their Embeddable Bible is a new resource that will allow you to add the entire Bible to your website by simply copy and pasting a short piece of code and embedding it on your site.  I set this up on our church website in literally under 1 minute!  Bam! We now have the complete Bible on our website for anyone to search or just read at their leisure.  And this is not just some simple one version installation either, our readers now have the entire selection of translations at their fingertips.  Did I mention that it did not cost a dime!  Yes, for a limited time you can sign up your ministry to take advantage of these great resources, absolutely free.  This truly is a game changer.

There are many different resources that will allow you to pull verses, do Bible searches, and put widgets on your web site.  But this is the entire Bible, right on your site.  Quick and simple with an installation that is so easy I installed it in less time than it has taken me to type this post.  You can see the results on my churches website at Marlboro Church.

If you would like to sign up (free for a limited time) you just need to visit eBible Ministry Resources and register your organization.  Once the four question registration form is completed you are immediately taken to the page with the embed code.  Simply copy and paste this into your website or blog on the page of you choice and save.  That’s it. Finished.  And if you would like to get a fancier looking result there is an option to write your own CSS code and change the look of your online Bible.

In addition to the embedded Bible you also have the ability to add related articles to the sidebar of your online Bible.  You can see an example of the related articles on the Online Bible page that I have set up here at Christian Droid.  (please note that I have not had the time to fully code this web page to eliminate all of the excess blog contents.)

Related Articles appear on the sidebar of every eBible scripture page, including your embeddable Bible. You have the option of adding your own website to the list of articles we pull from. You can configure your embeddable Bible to show from our entire list of articles, just your articles, or show no related articles at all.

Another ministry resource that you should check out is their VerseLink.  Simply by putting a small snippet of code in the header of your website or blog you will instantly turn every Scripture reference on your website into a live link straight to your embedded Bible.  (or if you choose you can link back to the eBible main site like I have done here on this blog.)  **Edit** – I have changed the option on this website to link back to the Online Bible on my church website.

We have used their Word Press VerseLink plug-in here at ChristianDroid for several months now.  This plug-in allows the reader to hover over a Scripture reference and see a pop-up with the actual verse.  To see it in action, just hover you mouse over the following:  Luke 11:9  However, now the code is available to insert into any header, no plugin required and you can have this pop-capability on any website.

A couple of months ago, I was excited when I first discovered the eBible site and told you about it here at ChristianDroid and I have been using their website almost daily since that time.  So I was thrilled to discover these latest additions to their ministry resources, you really need to check them out.  I think you will be impressed as well.

If you have a web presence for your ministry you must check out these resources that are available now through eBible.  They really are a “game-changer.”
