Mashable calls it the best Android phone ever. Forbes refers to it as “The Kitchen Sink of Smartphones.” TechCrunch says “The S Stands for Super.” Samsung has named it the Galaxy S4. Regardless of how you refer to the newest Android phone in Samsung’s powerful line of Galaxy phones, it is sure to be a huge hit.

Samsung sold over 40 million S3 devices in the first seven months and there is no question that the S4 will perform on the same level as its predecessor. This makes the Galaxy line of phones the Android king in terms of popularity, thus making it a leader in the accessory market.

This is great news to the owners of the Galaxy S4. Due to its popularity, Samsung released a full line of accessories along side of the actual device and other accessory manufacturers are already pumping out loads of great items to help enhance your usage of your new device.

Today, we will take a look at some of the items that are available to anyone looking to upgrade to the Galaxy S4. It is unusual for a device to have many different accessories available even before the device arrives on all of the major carriers but since this is such an important device in the Android lineup, there are tons of accessories already available for purchase. You can see the full lineup of available accessories here. Which ones will you be adding to your device?

Galaxy S4 Flip Cover

April 30, 2013 — 1 Comment

Samsung Galaxy S4 Flip CoverSamsung’s newest flagship phone is now making its way into the hands of consumers. After months of anticipation, Android fans can now pick up or pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S4 from their favorite wireless carrier.

One thing that I always have disliked about the release of a new device is the lack of accessories that are available at the time the device is released. Many times you have no options available to you to protect your shiny new phone until weeks after the purchase. However, that is not the case with the release of the S4. Samsung has done a great job of providing accessories for the S4, even prior to the actual release of the device.

As with any new device, the one thing that plagues new owners is the fear that you will scratch, damage, or destroy your new phone. A new mobile device is like buying a new car. You hate to get the first scratch or nick in the paint on your new purchase.

Samsung has you protected with their Flip Case for the Galaxy S4. With your new phone held snugly within this case, you will not have to worry about that inevitable first scratch. With its protective flap that covers the screen, the flip case will protect your device from all sides.

Over the past couple of weeks I have brought you several reviews of Nexus 7 cases. Since I don’t like to play favorites, today I thought I would share some thoughts on a case for the iPad Mini. As many of you know, I use both a Nexus 7 and an iPad Mini. However, I do have to admit that my iPad Mini is my tablet of choice. I carry this iPad Mini with me just about everywhere I go so it is important to me to make sure that I have the iPad well protected. As much as I like using the iPad mini without any cover, it is not practical for me to toss the iPad in my car, on my desk, or on the table at home without protecting the screen and back from scratches.

iPad Mini Case BackApple’s Smart Cover for the iPad Mini, while protecting the front of the device does nothing to protect the back and sides of the device from nicks and scratches. In addition, the iPad Mini Smart Cover’s hinge has much more play and feels a lot flimsier than the hinge on the full size iPad’s Smart Cover. The iPad Mini Slim Smart Case eliminates both of these concerns.

The iPad Mini Slim Smart Case is a protective shell that covers the back and sides of your precious iPad Mini with its own Smart Cover permanently attached to protect the front of the device. And just like Apple’s Smart Cover, this cover contains the same folds that allows you to position your iPad Mini to multiple viewing angles.

SimpleGiver

Simple GiverYesterday, we took a look at some of the things to look for when choosing an electronic donation processor. During my research for this article, I came across a newly formed service that checked most of the boxes that I mentioned in my article. So today I would like to take the time to introduce you to SimpleGiver.com, a simple mobile solution that allows your church or ministry to accept electronic donations.

Simple Giver is an easy to use solution. Once you join, all you have to do is upload your logo and your mobile payment site is built for you automatically. Once you create a project or fundraiser, you are ready to begin accepting donations. In just a matter of minutes your church can put a complete electronic payment solution in place and be up and running.

The first thing that caught my attention when researching Simple Giver is their pricing structure. There are no set-up fees, no monthly or annual fees, your ministry pays just 5% of every transaction to process the donation. Since credit card companies will charge you 2 to 3% per transaction to process credit card payments, the Simple Giver fees are extremely reasonable.

Simple Giver Features

  • Free to join and all you pay is 5% per transaction. Period.
  • Analytics and reports that allow you to see who is giving and how much. Every cent can be traced.
  • Anyone can give to your organization 24/7 by simply visiting your Simple Giver website on their smartphone.
  • Nothing to download
  • No hidden fees.
  • Free resources to help you make the most of Simple Giver, such as, PowerPoint slides, bulletin inserts, etc.
