With only 36 hours to go, After Edmund is closing in on their goal of raising $20,000 to help fund their new album.  The band has been blessed by the outpouring of support that they have received over the past 28 days, raising over $17,700 of the $20,000 needed.  However, there is still a little work to be done.  If the $20,000 goal is not met by 12:00 am EST on February 24, 2012 the band will receive nothing.  That’s right, the Kickstarter program requires that the goal be met by the deadline or there will be no funds collected and distributed.  So it is time to band together (forgive the pun) and kick this project over the top.

In an effort to help the band reach its goal, ChristianDroid.com is donating $50.00 to the After Edmund Kickstarter Project in the name of their Biggest Fan.  That’s right, if you are chosen as the band’s Biggest Fan, we will donate the money to the cause in YOUR name.  That means that you will receive the $45.00 incentive which includes: Continue Reading…

YouVersion The Bible App

The kind people behind the best electronic Bible available on any device today, YouVersion, have once again arranged for a Christmas gift for everyone.  From 12:00 am December 1, 2011 until 11:59 pm December 12, 2011 (Central), you can once again download the NIV Bible for offline use.  By downloading this to your mobile device a data connection is no longer required to read the NIV using the YouVersion mobile application.

If you missed out on this opportunity last time around, or if you know someone who did, make sure you don’t miss out this time.  And since it is free, anyone can afford this gift.  If you did take advantage of this opportunity during one of the previous offerings, don’t forget to make sure that you download it to all of your mobile devices while you can.  This is a great time to add the offline NIV to your new Kindle Fire or Nook ColorContinue Reading…

Last night I had just finished watching Sidewalk Prophets perform their online concert for backers of their BusGo Project (more about that later), when my phone gave that familiar ding that signaled “you’ve got mail.”  Checking my inbox, I see that I have just received this tweet to my Twitter account.  Intrigued I immediately started looking to see what this was all about.

Now to be perfectly honest, I am generally not a fan of Christmas music.  I know, this means I am nuts; my wife tells me this all the time.  But in my defense, I hear Christmas music four months out of the year.  It always starts in September when our choir starts preparing for its Christmas program.  From that moment on, I generally listen to the rehearsal music every time I am in the car.  Then in November, the music gets doubled as the speakers at work started emitting the sounds of donkeys, elves, and all sorts of other misfits singing secular Christmas music.  By the time December rolls around, I am usually ready to stick wads of old newspaper in my ears to avoid the invasion.  I tell you this only to stress how strange it is for me to write this post.
