This past weekend I had the honor of attending my oldest child’s college graduation. Jason graduated with a BA degree in Religion and plans to attend Claremont School of Theology this fall to pursue his Master’s Degree. While I knew that I would have to write something about this for today’s post, I wasn’t quite so sure about what I was going to write. I am extremely proud of his accomplishments, however, I knew that you really didn’t want to read another post about me bragging on my children.
I pondered the question of what I had wished someone had told me 28 years ago when I walked across the stage and received my college degree. However, I quickly realized that 28 years ago, you really couldn’t tell me much. And I figured that most of the graduating class of 2013 was probably the same way and really didn’t want any advice from an old fool like myself.
As the thoughts ran through my head, one thought kept coming up again and again. It was the same thought that I had when I first saw the graduates entering the arena Saturday afternoon.
Am I really old enough to have a child graduate from college? It seems like only yesterday I was graduating. Where did all of the time go?
